Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ)
is charged with implementing and enforcing certain aspects of the Arizona
Department of Environmental Quality's (ADEQ) Safe Drinking Water and
Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) rules within Pima County. PDEQ also investigates
ground water pollution around areas such as Tucson International Airport
Area Superfund Site. Additionally, PDEQ is itself regulated, as a permittee,
to control storm water pollution from the County's municipal storm sewer
system.
